Summer Study Abroad: Florence, Italy
Fine Art: Painting/Printmaking
The School of Fine Art at the Academy of Art University will be conducting the Summer Semester Study Abroad Program in Florence, Italy. This is a 7-½ week program running concurrent with the onsite summer semester and will consist of 6 units of painting or printmaking (4 days per week).
Where: The exciting city of Florence is in the capitol of Tuscany, in the heart of Italy. It has been a vital contributor to the world of art for centuries. Rich with museums, breathtaking architecture and monumental figurative sculptures, Florence offers artists a feast of visual and cultural stimuli. Facilities for students are comparable to AAU facilities both in painting and printmaking. Presses and a painting studio will be available for students.
When: June 17th to August 7th; a 7 ½ week semester running the same as the AAU summer semester. Six units will be required (or 2 classes). Each class will meet a total of 4 days per week. (Monday through Thursday).
Accommodations: Apartments, with two bedrooms (4 students per apartment) *Air conditioning, single room accommodations (at additional cost) upon request.
