Nurturing Spirit Award Program
Introduction
The Academy of Art University is excited to introduce the Nurturing Spirit Award Program. The
program, launched in March 2006, is our newest employee recognition program. The Academy prides
itself with the dedication to provide outstanding services to the Academy community in an
environment providing quality higher education.
The Program
The purpose of the Nurturing Spirit Award Program is to acknowledge members of the Academy
community who are witnessed performing an act of exceptional service portraying the "Nurturing
Spirit". The aim of the program is to enhance our Academy culture through customer service,
teamwork and a positive attitude. The Nurturing Spirit Award recognizes the employees'
contributions to the overall objective of the Academy's mission statement.
Eligibility
All full-time and part-time employees of the Academy community are eligible for the Nurturing
Spirit Award. All employees include faculty, staff and college work-study students.
Nurturing Spirit Award
Recipients of the Nurturing Spirit Award will be recognized monthly on the Academy intranet and
formally at departmental meetings. First-time recipients will receive a Nurturing Spirit Award
lapel pin and a Nurturing Spirit award certificate. A recipient will be awarded the Nurturing
Spirit Award Certification for each additional award. All awards will be noted in the employee's
personnel file.
How to Award an Employee
All students and employees can select an Academy employee for the award by submitting an Award
Card at a box location or through online submission on the Academy intranet. The Award Card will
detail the "Nurturing Spirit" act performed by the Academy employee.
